Bisul Mountain, South Korea, October 2009
We headed off to Bisul Mountain with the Young and Ayer families and what a great time we had! Between the weather and the friends, it just couldn't get any better! We stayed in a little cabin. At this point in out lives it's as close to camping/roughin' it as we'll get and it was perfect. Like and oversized treehouse. Jimmy was so excited he could hardly contain himself. Ben was peaceful and entertained by all. Both crashed hard that night (and the next night at home). Ben seemed to take a special liking to the heated floors. I've never been concerned an air mattress would explode...but it did cross my mind as it kept expanding as the floors warmed. We loved every minute of it and hope to return in a few weeks. It was so refreshing to be outdoors in an area so much like the Appalachian mountains of home. Uuuummmuuuuummmm.
Ben 6 Months Old!
Where does the time go? Our sweet little boy was 6 months old on Oct 10th! We thank God that we were blessed not once but TWICE with such sweetness! He is a great boy (and a great BIG boy). The only time he is grumpy is when it's time for a nap. He lllloooooves his big brother. Doesn't matter what Jimmy does, Ben thinks it's hysterical. And they love some wresteling. Daddy's already excited about that. Just wanna eat him up. Love em!

And then, there was this monster....Bisul Mountain......
There was lots of great conversation to be had on our trip today. I think Jimmy was telling me about him and his dad swimming (see previous post). Another good one was in the car when I was navigating and Big Jimmy was telling me to look for the town of "Wangchung". I started singing the 80's song "Everybody wangchung tonight....". He thought I caught his joke since I was singing the song. Why would there not be a town named "Wangchung" in an Asian country? He thinks he's sooooo funny. All I got to say, is who got us lost and who got us to the mountain?
I love Jimmy's expressions in these pictures. This is how he is many conversations during the day. Exception - and hour or two after he wakes from his nap. Direct eye contact, not recommended. Talking, not a great idea. Don't breathe too loud either.
Bisul Mountain, South Korea
What a sweet, sweet day. Hints of fall are in the air. Clear. Crisp. Seventy degrees. Today is Chusok (chew-sock). The Korean version of Thanksgiving....with out the pilgrams. Not a lot of people at the mountain (though enough were on the roads). It was just the perfect day to enjoy nature with my boys. Ummmm-uuuuummmmm. Jimmy didn't want the day to end and we didn't either. Thank you God for this day. Too perfect.
The water's deep!

Labor Day Weekend
Aaahhhh! We are heading in to a great time of year to be in Korea! Fruit and vegies are coming in. Yummo. The temperature is cooling. Things are good! We've spent Jimmy's birthday with our sweet friends they Ayers and Youngs. Two special families we are blessed to know.
The grumpy middle picture was my failed attempt today to capture the perfect Christmas card pic. The boys were both sweetly sleeping near each other....and in red. How could I resist. I could see the caption "twas the night before Christmas".......As I snuck up to take the pic, Jimmy woke. He groggily climbed in front of Ben to snuggle with him and started yelling "no mommy! no picture!". Ben woke. And this is the pic I got.

Caught in the Grapes
We've had a great week (albeit HOT!). Jimmy got busted in the grapes. He would eat them beyond sick. Ben decided he liked to face out in his carrier. He had been trying to tell me but it took the great wisdome of Julie's mom, Vicky, to suggest it. Jimmy's loved this weeks box from gigi and papa ed with punching balloons in it! Who wouldn't love that.
A Boy and His Bike
Jimmy got his brand new balance bike yesterday. He walked by it when he got up this morning, got on it, rode it to the couch. Fortunately I was right behind him, otherwise he would have fallen right in to the wall. He wasn't awake. Then, of course, he wanted it on the couch....on top of him. Good thing it only weighs 8 pounds.
When he got it last night he used it as a means of transportation around our house. And why not. The house is HUGE. :) He would ride in the room...."mom the phones ringing".....turn around.....ride to next room. What a trip.

Jimmy and Benjamin Meet for the First Time
We started taping this a few minutes after the boys first met. The best stuff was said before we started filming but it was all still priceless. Mom and Dad said if this was all they got to see it was worth every dime and minute spent to get here.

Benjamin Has Arrived
Benjamin Edward Hendrix arrived Friday night, April 10, 2009 at a whopping 9.5 lbs! All went fantastic! We are all doing well. And Jimmy is just the best big brother. We have been very blessed to have my parents here. Jimmy's had a blast playing with them and Benjamin arrived less than 24 hours before Papa Ed left the country (whew!). We still get Gigi for another week! More pictures and videos in a few days!

What we do while waiting.......
We're in Seoul waiting for labor to start so I can have this baby (much like waiting for water to boil).......and our dear friend Lara is here with son Colin doing the same. So - fun must be found. And it was - in the form of the steep hill and cardboard boxes. Thankfully Papa Ed and Jimmy acted as the escalator up the hill!

Practicing for Brothers.......
Kids this age LOVE a stroller their size to push. We found these blue ones and had to order them (funny how doll size ones cost more than the regular umbrella strollers!). Collin and Jimmy had a blast pushing them around. And then Jimmy face planted on the concrete. Party over. Not sure if it was his new boots or the high speed he was pushing the stroller...possible both.
